Looking at the Pittsburgh Steelers 2009 Draft Class.
Steelers sat tight in round one and drafted an athlete who is more likely to realize his full potential in Pittsburgh than anywhere else. Evander Hood is a powerful 6-3, 300 pounder who displays above average athleticism for his size. Solid as a traditional one gap tackle, but not outstanding, Hood figures to be more valuable in the Steeler 3-4 defense run by Dick Lebeau. His quickness, strength, and tenacity are tailor made for the DE position. A solid character kid by all accounts, and quite durable through 4 college seasons. Has graduated and just turned 22.
Solid pick for the team at the #32 overall spot.
